Aaron Ramsey’s possible destinations after Arsenal
Aaron Ramsey’s future at Arsenal has become a subject of massive speculation in recent days. The Welsh star is currently in the final year of his current contract with the Gunners, and it appears that the North London club won’t offer him a new deal.
Arsenal was in contract negotiations with the midfielder for a considerable amount of time, but latest reports indicate that they have withdrawn their offer. In a recent interview, the midfielder admitted that he was close to agreeing to a new deal with Arsenal, but the club withdrew their proposal at the last minute.
He also added that he intends to spend the entire season with the club, and his future still very much lies with the club. As things stand, the 27-year-old stands to walk away as a free player in the summer.
Quite obviously, some major European clubs are reportedly monitoring his situation. He would be able to sign a pre-contract with non-English clubs starting from January. Serie A giants Juventus have been linked with a move for Ramsey.
The Italian champions are known for their astute signings, and the Welshman could be another coup for them. They have a massive advantage over their English rivals as they would be able to approach the player in January.
If Ramsey decides to stay in England, then there is no lack of interest in his services in Premier League. The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are supposedly monitoring his situation.
It is believed that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the player, and he would love him at Anfield. However, Klopp has a lot of quality central midfielders in his side, and it’s hard to see where Aaron Ramsey would fit.
United failed to sign Ramsey when he moved to Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2008. Eleven years later, they could finally bring the player to Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho could undoubtedly use some proven Premier League talent in his side. However, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, and it’s tough to predict their intentions in the transfer market.
Chelsea was linked with Ramsey in the summer, and if the reports are to be believed, they have renewed their interest. However, like Liverpool, Chelsea have a wealth of midfield talent, and it’s hard to picture Ramsey cutting ahead of Jorginho or N’Golo Kante in Maurizio Sarri’s side.
Nevertheless, Aaron Ramsey is an immense talent, and he is a lucrative player for any club, especially on a free transfer.
